Monthly Progress Report

SAAPS-MR-23-99/00/01

Period: 2001-02-01--02-28

Authors: Lars Eliasson and Peter Wintoft

1. Progress status

Progress meeting 5 was held in Kiruna, 9 February.

A model for the prediction of Marecs anomalies using sum Kp as input has been developed. The predictions have also been analysed and it was found that the output level from the neural network can be used to determine the accuracy of the predictions.

A user name and password for SAAPS has been sent to Paolo Maldari at ESOC. The question about "official channel" has been asked again.

User names and passwords has also been given to Eamonn Daly, Hugh Evans, Alain Hilgers, Thomas Kuch (DLR), Jean-Pierre Catani (CNES), C. Kunstadter (USAU), Geoff Reeves (LANL) and Michael Williams (EUMETSAT).

Electron flux data from the LANL1990-095 satellite have been added to the SAAPS database. The data extend over the years 1996-1998 and consist of hourly average electron flux at energies from 20 eV to 10 MeV.

Esrange can now run the SAAPS Applets if they use Netscape on their Windows computers instead of Internet Explorer.

The web page with the relation between the SRD and the Java code has been updated.

Technical Note 3 for the prediction module, SAPM, has been updated to version 0.3.

The Test Plan has been put on the web pages.
